been a leading independent publisher of books on spirituality,
religion and theology for 50 years. We look for books that combine
attentiveness to the spirit and good scholarship with passion and
verve, and our reach ranges from the faithful but inquisitive to
the sceptical but open-minded. Our authors include the great
Catholic writers of our times - Thomas Merton, Henri Nouwen, Gerard
W Hughes, Basil Hume, Jean Vanier and Karl Rahner - as well as
leading Anglican writers such as Rowan Williams, W H Vanstone and
Michael Mayne. We are the publisher of the Jerusalem Bible, used in
Catholic services throughout the English-speaking world, as well as
the NRSV, increasingly becoming the version most widely used by
Christians of every tradition. Our publishing values are reflected
in the way we work. DLT is unique among publishers in being jointly
owned and managed by all its employees. Visit www.dltbooks.com for full details

Hymns Ancient &
Modern: A large number of hymnbooks were in use
by disparate groups within the Church of England by the
mid-Victorian period, and a chance meeting in a railway carriage by
two clergymen led to the formation of a group of like-minded
supporters to consider the viability of producing a single
hymnal.
From these inauspicious beginnings, the first Hymns Ancient &
Modern was published in 1861. It is estimated that since its
inception, in excess of 165 million copies of Hymns Ancient &
Modern have been sold.
Joint Liturgical Studies is published twice
yearly on behalf of the Alcuin Club which promotes the study of
Christian Liturgy, and the Group for Renewal of Worship (GROW), a
forward thinking, practical and adventurous exploration in the
field of Anglican Worship for over thirty years.
